On October 13, 2018, volunteers of Global Peace Foundation (GPF), Inc. gathered in Westminster to pack and donate more than 10,000 meals to send for distribution to needy children all around the World. The food packaging drive deliberately involved a large number of youth and children to make them aware of the problem of hunger throughout the world, and to engage them in the efforts to overcome that problem. Their enthusiasm, and the happiness on their faces while doing this work, was remarkable. There were more than 70 volunteers who worked several hours to package non-perishable nutritious vegetarian food, including soya powder, rice, dried vegetable and multivitamin pack. This food will be distributed to needy children and families in various Asian countries including India.

The event was organized by Dr. Manorama S. Gupta, President of Global Peace Foundation, Inc., the funds for the purchase of the food items were raised through donations from Foundation committee members and various philanthropists, and the packaging work was carried out by the volunteers, families, and school children.

The other partners for this GPF event were Asian World Media (S.A.M Foundation) who hosted the event, and Rise Against Hunger, who will carry out the food distribution. The event was arranged at Asian World Media facility in Westminster, CA, provided by its founder, Dr. Sam Nguyen, whose support and active involvement with GPF is highly appreciated. Sincere appreciation and thanks also go to Princess Junko Ishikawa and her volunteers. On behalf of the Foundation, Dr. Gupta expressed her heartful thanks to the donors, the committee members, and the volunteers who gave their time.

Next year GPF is planning to package and donate food packets at an even larger scale than they did this year. The Foundation is also planning to feed homeless, donate toys and blankets during the coming Holiday season.
